William Jones (Glybcoed) and his grandson Leslie William Jones, 1899

William Jones was baptized on 8 January 1815 and died on 11 March 1902. He was the son of David Jones of Glybcoed, Llanwenllwyfo, near Amlwch, Anglesey, and Catherine Jones. He was one of ten brothers and sisters, and married Anne (baptized 22 January 1817, died 1 July 1867), daughter of John Humphreys and Margaret Parry. He was the father of William Humphreys Jones. After returning from Australia in 1855, he bought and built the farm at Treifan, near Brynsiencyn, Anglesey, and this remained the family home until it was sold in 1960. He was a farmer, originally at Glybcoed and later at Treifan, and subsequently became innkeeper of the Stanley Arms in Holyhead.
