Charles Hannah

Born 1852 at Llysfaen, Caerns. the fourth son of Peter Hannah (1818-1858), Agent, Pentregwyddel Quarry, Llanddulas, Denbs., and Margaret Hannah (nee Humphreys) (1828-1895).

In 1861 he was aged 9 and living at 3, 4 Inkerman Terrace, Breadalbane House, Pensarn, Abergele, Denbs. His mother, then a widow, was a Lodging House Keeper and the family included his brothers John, Francis C., William T. and his sister Elizabeth A.

He trained as a pharmacist, qualifying M.P.S. in 1872. His brother John had qualified similarly in 1869. The addresses given for him by the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain are as follows:

On Tues. 13 Feb. 1877 at 5 a.m. he met the train at London bringing Dr. Thomas Humphreys from Bangor for an operation for stone from which he died. Accompanying Dr. Humphreys were his sister Miss Margaret Humphreys and Mrs. Ellen Humphreys of the Cambrian Hotel, Abergele, Charles Hannah’s aunt.
