Dishes and Dinner Plates
The large dishes and dinner-plates marked “Eugenie” on the back and currently displayed on the Welsh dresser came from France and were made in approximately 1850. They were bought by the occupant of Llanidan Hall, near Brynsiencyn, Anglesey. Mrs. Eleanor Catharine Jones (1865-1925) wife of William Humphreys Jones (1861-1940) bought them at a sale there and they then came to Treifan, Brynsiencyn. Here they were always displayed on the old Welsh dresser which had come from Glybcoed, Llanwenllwyfo, Anglesey and which is now in the possession of Miss Angharad Jones, Tai Cochion, Brynsiencyn, the only grand-daughter of William Humphreys Jones and Eleanor Catharine Jones.
