Ellen Humphreys’ Letter, 7 February 1867 (notes)

Ellen M. Humphreys (nee Carmichael) born 1825, was the wife of Robert Humphreys, Inn-keeper, of the Cambrian Hotel, Abergele, Denbs.

She was writing to her aunt who was one of the Humphreys daughters of Llaneuddog, Llanwenllwyfo, Anglesey.

James and Tom were probably her brothers.

James was born in 1833 and Thomas in 1839.

As the letter from James had been “only a month in coming”, it had presumably come from abroad.
