Dear Aunt

               We have just had a very sorrowful letter in which he says Poor Tom is no more. He died about Christmas. We have not had the first letter James wrote as he mentioned in this as if it had been written before. We expect to get that letter by the next mail as this letter has only been a month in coming. We will write to you again – we are all very much grieved and very low – it has come so sudden – Poor Tom – with our kind love
