Bryn Awel, Star, Gaerwen, Anglesey

Bryn Awel, together with several adjoining fields and cottages, had belonged to Dr Leslie William Jones for some years before becoming empty in 1955. When Ellis William Parry Jones joined his father in general practice in October 1955 it was decided to extend and modernise the house before Ellis and Mary Jones moved in on 12 July 1956. The work was carried out by Leslie Jones’ brother Alwynne and his men. Bryn Awel was the home of Ellis and Mary Jones and their children William, David, Charlotte and Matthew until the family moved to London in 1962. The house is at the top of a hill overlooking Llanfairpwll.
