Treifan, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey

Treifan, in the parish of Llanidan, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey, was built by William Jones (Glybcoed) with the money he received in exchange for the gold he brought back from Australia.

The verandah and vestibule were built when Alwynne Humphreys Jones was born in 1900.

Leslie William Jones laid the foundation of the out-houses as a baby. He laid a silver spoon under the loose-box near the stable-door.

Treifan remained the family home until it was sold by Alwynne Humphreys Jones in 1960 to Mr Lambert.

The letter below was from William Jones (Glybcoed) to William Pritchard, Bryn Bella, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey. William Pritchard had been commissioned to build the house and stables. William Jones himself constructed the cellar.
